July 5th Update
Aug 5 2024
The last three years we have had a big storm in the first week of August. This year we have summer!! Summer returned!! It is 70 degrees blue skies calm water! Loving every minute of this weather!
The humpback whales are everywhere. All of a sudden they seem to be in South Pass, Idaho Inlet, Yakobi, they seem to be everywhere. Lots of stories coming in about whales jumping out of the water. Very cool!
Silvers are starting to show signs up improvement. We are seeing boats getting close to their limits. Pinks are still very much here. We had Silvers caught at Three Hill and also down the coast at Yakobi, Soapstone, and further down the coast. Blue and Silver hoochie with an 8” flasher down about 60’
Halibut has been the same. We had a 143 lb yesterday. Inside waters and also outside areas are seeing good halibut fishing. One close to 100lbs was caught in less then 80’ of water.
Juneau could see some major flooding today. Here is a link for the news about it.
