Aug 2 Fishing Update

Is strong current good or bad? Last week we had some pretty big tides. And we saw some really good catches for halibut. This week the tides have slowed down a lot, and our halibut catch dropped off, fishermen are also a factor. The pink salmon are still going crazy jumping everywhere. Jake and I went up Port Althorp a couple of nights ago and they were jumping all over the head of the bay. We also saw a young brown bear get a salmon and take it up on the beach for dinner. Silvers are still slow, we had a boat bring in 8 one day. But for the most part it is still the world of pink salmon. We have a 25 kt wind forecast for Wednesday. The weather has been great. We have had some great sunset photos.
